I cannot stress this enough: take leaps and get involved. Play sports, work casually, volunteer for a cause you’re passionate about, join a social club or society. Long gone are the days when you would do a degree and finish with a job waiting for you.

My whole team, regardless of level, is incredibly supportive of professional development in terms of ability to deliver, but also in coaching me on how to be a professional.

Just because you’ve started full-time work, this does not mean you need to give up what you love. Work and/or study are just one part of what we do – take the opportunity to pursue whatever else may motivate you.

Every day is different, and I have become quite comfortable with not knowing what the next day is going to hold.

Being a graduate in 2020 has been challenging, but my team has been there every step of the way to support my learning and growth.

Never be afraid to ask for help. You are not expected to know everything immediately.

Reach out to people working in the fields you are interested in to get advice (we don’t bite!)

We have all failed at some point, so if you don’t get accepted on the first try, brush it off and try again.

Don’t panic if you don’t have it all sorted out. Take opportunities that are given to you, and find people you respect the advice of. That is the best guide!

Say “YES” more. A lot more. You never know what’s behind the door until you open it, so just do it.
