Management at Mars Australia

8.3
8.3 rating for Management, based on 8 reviews
How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
Through dealing with my line manager, I would say she is very accessible and approachable. I have received feedback on my performance and she has been quite open with what is expected of me.

My manager is incredibly supportive of my learning and development. He doesn't micromanage, which is great for me as I know he trusts I will perform my best in my role. However, I know that if I am ever in need of support he will always be there!

Managers in my segment are very social but they tend to have a very hands off approach to management. I find that I have to seek support rather than a base of support being layer for me to work from. It is a different style to what I am used to and took some adjusting.

A lot of time assigned to connect with your managers, buddy and mentors. They help to address any issues/questions you have, as well as providing guidance, feedback and recognition.

My managers have been very good. I could benefit from slightly more guidance but they are also very busy which explains why they have not been as close to my progress.
Graduate, Ballarat
I am satisfied with my manager. He is approachable and friendly and is very focused on ensuring I am settled into my role.
Graduate, Central Coast
I am satisfied with my Manager, however, I do believe that there could be more communication regarding my training and more action when concerns are raised regarding the training I am receiving.

Not a lot of follow up to see how you are going. Line managers are great but don't really hear from many other people in the business. As a graduate line managers don't have the extra time to put in for extra development, give you equal treatment to the rest of the team. Would like more training and development.
