MYOB Graduate Programs & Internships

  • Technology

As the #originalstartup, MYOB's roots are in finance and accounting software, but today we are so much more. We help our Aussie and Kiwi customers unleash their full potential, giving them the tools to Start, Survive and Succeed: all in the one place.

We're always on the hunt for those who bring a different perspective, diversity of thought and the drive to make our culture even better. Take your career to a new dimension at MYOB.

The Future Makers Academy (FMA) is our 'graduate' program. It's all about bringing people from diverse backgrounds together to create great software. It provides a solid foundation to those taking the first steps in their software development career.

Proteges (our Grads) are paired up with a Learning Buddy and Mentor who guide them through their journey to becoming an Associate Developer.

FMA isn't just  just about writing code, it's about having a growth mindset, it's about teamwork, it's about learning our culture and having a blast while you learn.

Recruitment Process

Our recruitment process is simple and is an opportunity for us to get to know you while you can get to know us! It's all about bringing your whole self to the process.

Our application process involves:

  • An online application form including submitting your CV
  • Assessment and video interview
  • Interview with The Future Makers Academy

Remuneration & Career Growth

Orientation Week “O-Week!” is when you start as a permanent employee in (either in August or February). From there, you'll be paired with a Mentor and Learning Buddy who will support you throughout your journey.

The first stage of your journey is Acceleration where you will be provided with a high level of learning and support that helps you explore your strengths and build on identified focus areas. You'll build on both soft and technical skills which helps to accelerate your personal and professional development.

After acceleration, you'll enter into up to 3 rotations. As you implement your learnings in rotations, you’ll be exposed to different areas of the business, projects and people.

Then there are a number of other opportunities to get involved in the wider business from communities, teams, and other initiatives that resonate with you - allowing your whole self to contribute to MYOB.

Once you have completed your rotations, you'll be ready to graduate as an Associate Developer.

What Graduates Say About Them
  • Great support network including other graduates, learning buddy and mentor
  • Company culture, capacity for growth and flexible working.
  • Very flexible, great work life balance, great culture, lots of learning opportunities.
  • Company culture. Welcoming, encouraging, strong promotion of teamwork, great diversity in all areas.
  • Mentorship from senior developers in a flexible working environment.
  • Commute, but that's obviously out of everyone’s control.
  • When given so much freedom it can be hard to know which way to go. Fortunately, there are plenty of people happy to answer questions to help you find out.
  • The economy impacting internal hires and career growth.
  • When awesome people leave and join other companies.
  • The transition from acceleration -> crew rotations -> associate is very manual and not well supported. The individual graduate has to find their own way and sometimes it's a hit and miss where they end up.

Processing my experience with Imposter Syndrome with MYOB

That all too familiar feeling — the fear of everyone around you discovering your incompetence. The self-doubt at the front of your mind every hour of the workday. The shame that fills you every time you admit defeat. The certainty that you are in fact, a fraud.
