Keryn Michell

Due to my travel to see clients, I group them together as best as I can. Sometimes it doesn’t work out. I may find myself in between clients at a café catching up on emails, writing case notes or reports.  I have attended stakeholder meetings via Zoom at McDonald's.

7.00 AM

My day begins, on most days, at home. I check in on emails and look at my calendar for the next few days. I have a number of regular clients I now see on a fortnightly basis. I make sure I have resources organised to take into the community.

7.30 AM

I head out, most of my clients are about 30 min from home so I put on a favourite playlist and enjoy the travel. (I probably should be listening to creative and educational podcasts)  I use the time in my car to reflect and clear my mind.

I actually enjoy this time in the community. It breaks my day up and I’m not locked in an office looking at the same four walls all day.

Appointments with clients can be at any time of the day. I do my best to fit In with their schedule. I have a number of paeds clients. Often their appointments will be In the afternoon, not to disrupt schooling too much.

National 360 - Keryn paeds

Every day is different in this role. Some days may be a full day at home report writing and case management tasks. The weeks fly by. My first 8 months have flown by. Sometimes I feel like I have everything under control, and then In comes the curveball, and I feel like I am back at square one.
