Bachelor of Education (Honours) / Bachelor of Science

This course leads to two separate degrees. Depending on your specialisation, you'll graduate with a Bachelor of Science and either the:

• Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary Education
• Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Secondary Education

Specialise in primary education and you'll be able to teach across the school curriculum, with particular expertise in science-related areas. Specialise in secondary education and you'll qualify as a specialist science or mathematics teacher.

On top of your foundational science studies, you'll have 24 majors and minors to choose from. From physics to plant sciences, biochemistry to psychology, geographical science to mathematics, this is your opportunity to delve into an area you're particularly interested in.

Combined with your education studies, you'll learn how to be an innovative and effective teacher in general, with the capacity to bring out the scientific curiosity in young people.

There's always high demand for science and mathematics teachers, both in primary and secondary schools. But with this double degree, your options certainly aren't limited to the classroom.

You could turn your skills to a range of careers in science communication and education, whether that's in museums, science centres or even publishing. The options are diverse, and the choice is yours.

• This means your qualification will be accepted in Victoria and all other states and territories.
